Boldly breaking my own unbreakable rule about not putting any video up on my blog was not an easy decision. But I have done so for three reasons.
One - I didn't have anything else to put up for the all-important competitive Friday Blog Sweeps.
Two - This video does meet my stringent standards for really funny in a strange way.
Three - I just can't help myself. People really ought to see this!
First off, a tip of the hat to Anok at Identity Check for bring this to my attention. She posted the transcript of this video over at her blog, and I did my due diligence to make sure it was real. Nothing personal Anok, but I just found it incredible that a US Senator could say things like this.
Harry Reid, US Senate Majority Leader
When I mentioned this exchange on a discussion group, the Kool-Aid drinkers started yammering about entrapment by a clever anti-government antagonistic interviewer. But the vid doesn't show any such thing. And I mean, lets get real.
Harry Reid is the Senate Majority Leader. He has a staff of dozens of people. He has a budget for hiring people of around two million dollars. And their principal purpose is to keep Senator Reid out of trouble.
And look at the interviewer's tie! It's possible he uses it to blind his victims first I suppose. But Senator Reid has been looking down on bald heads under harsh lights on the Senate floor for years. He should be immune.
What a hoot. And what a remarkable glimpse into the thinking process (assuming there is one) of one of the most powerful men in the USA.

House keeping (I don't do windows)
BrentD over at Ominous Comma is having a Photo Caption Contest. I've entered a few of those things, but I've never won one. (I know, I can't believe it either. Jealousy can be such a hurtful thing.)
I haven't mentioned it before, but I am suffering from an almost certainly fatal condition called Aging. The doctors give me 30, maybe 50 years tops.
And I sure would like to be able to tell my children that I won the fabulous Ominous Comma Caption Contest before I go. (cough, cough)
So...If my faithful readers (Hey pay attention! I'm talking to you three!) were to make their way over there and vote their conscience, (cough....COUGH) I sure would appreciate it.
